The following weather, soil and management set of data are required to run SiriusQuality.
Weather Data:
- Latitude of the weather station (decimal degree)
- Daily values of incident global solar radiation (MJ m-2)
- Maximum and minimum daily air temperature (°C)
- Daily total rainfall (mm)
Optional weather data are:
- Average daily air vapor pressure (hPa)
- Cumulative daily wind speed (km d-1)
Weather records must at minimum begin two weeks before the sowing date and continue a few weeks after harvest. If air vapor pressure and wind speed are provided the Penman equation is used to calculate daily crop evapotranspiration, otherwise the Priestley-Taylor approximation is used.
Soil Data:
- N mineralisation rate constant (day-1)
- Organic N in the top soil (g N m-2)
- Minimum inorganic N (g N m-2)
- Denitrification rate constant (day-1)
- Percolation coefficient (dimensionless)
- Soil water retention parameters (saturation, drained upper limit, crop lower limit) (%)
Management Data:
- Variety name
- Sowing date
- Sowing density
- Soil water deficit at sowing (mm)
- Total soil inorganic N at sowing (g N m-2)
- Atmospheric CO2 concentration (ppm)
- Date and rate of N fertilizer application
- Date and rate of irrigation
